Fitzsimons Golf Course is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Aurora, Colorado.

Fitzsimons Golf Course first opened for play in 1918 with just 3 sand greens. In 1939 the course evolved into an 18 hole layout designed by Army Corp of Engineers.

The course was a favorite of former President Dwight Eisenhower. There is a tree located in the middle of the sixth fairway that is named after the former president with a wood plaque that reads “Ike’s Tree.” 

Fitzsimons became an Aurora public golf course in 1998. This tree-lined golf gem is now an attractive cornerstone to a bioscience park with some of the state’s leading hospitals. The redesigned holes on the front nine, done by Richard Phelps in 2004, are a great complement to the old-time layout and strong traditions at Fitzsimons.

The course has tree-lined fairways and elevated greens that are small and fast. A water hazard comes into play on only one hole.

The course closed December 15, 2017.

The course property will used to expand the Medical Center and Biotech Park.
